Knowledge is power. Instead of simply reacting to the information at hand, delve into it and explore all aspects of the information.
That is what I did three years ago. I had the benefit of working with the Convention of States, which focuses on the US Constitution. This focus opened up many avenues to which I could hold elected or appointed officials accountable for their actions; from surety bond complaints for local school board members, to challenging the Governor with a complaint with the Inspector General, and the House Speaker with the Joint Legislative Ethics Committee. It is because of this knowledge base that I feel comfortable putting myself in the forefront.
The atrocities against our children out way any threats that can be leveraged against me. In my profession as a nurse, I have learned to stand alone, to advocate for the patient. That is what I am doing to save our children. My research has provided me with the buffer that I need to save our children and protect myself from any litigation.
I have done this before in the state of West Virginia, where I fought to save children from exposure to bacteria (E Coli) in the waters of the state. Children were experiencing nausea, vomiting and diarrhea from such exposures to the contaminant, and were successful in correcting this major public health issue when it came to children. I persevered in this matter until it was resolved and have every intent of doing the same thing to protect our children and parental rights. I will not walk away.
What I am asking you to do is to have enough faith in me to align yourself with this battle by simply signing the petition on Act for America. We need 500,000 signatures to obtain the attention needed to influence legislators in our position.
If we are to save all the children, we need to approach it on the state level. I cannot abandon any child to these heinous acts in our educational system.
I have included a letter that I will be sending out on Monday to all Representatives in the Ohio House. I am tired of the repeated delay tactics used to avoid dealing with these issues. I have delivered this position in the letter below.
Attention All Ohio Representatives,
It has been 3 years since Critical Race Theory has insinuated itself in our schools due to the failure of the legislature to provide adequate oversite, which is a requirement for curricula changes in Ohio schools.
The Ohio Board of Education did not have the authority to implement Critical Race Theory under the guise of Social Justice issues in our school system. Their authority is limited to policy and procedures and setting standards. The board was fully aware of its conflict with both the Ohio Constitution and the US Constitution in the form of a letter from the Attorney General David Yost that was read and included in the meeting minutes prior to the vote for Resolution 20 (July 14, 2021).
The same situation occurred with Social Emotional Learning. Ohio Revised Code 3301.0178 requires a law to be passed by the legislature to implement SEL in our schools and no law has been passed but the Board of Education violated the rules and implemented it anyway (FOIA request). Pornography and gender affirming books have no laws supporting such materials in our schools, but plenty of laws to remove it.
Title IX of 1972 is still in effect yet schools are violating this Educational Amendment. There is no law to allow transgenders in girls’ sports, but you see it in Hilliard and Alliance schools.
With every communication I have included the above-sited information, yet nothing has been done to correct it by the legislature. We are tired of waiting. We refuse to stand in ceremony any longer. We have had enough!
You have a responsibility to protect the rights of citizens of Ohio and you are failing to do just that. If you do not protect our children, there is no point in you serving in the legislature. I cannot make it any clearer than that.
I will not hesitate to file complaints with the Joint Legislative Ethics Committee with regard to all of you if that is what it takes for you to do your job. This is not a threat but a guaranteed promise. If you have no intention of what is right but continue to allow the House Speaker to dictate the agenda, then you are not doing your job.
You have TEN DAYS to respond to my letter. What I hope to see is an action plan by the House to remove CRT, SEL, CSE and pornography from our schools. Parents want school health centers to be removed from our schools, a way to remove children from their parent’s custody.
I have already filed such a complaint against the House Speaker for exactly the same reason, his failure to protect our rights is a dereliction of duty and interfering with civil rights.
The US Constitution set forth a provision that all states must adhere to as it relates to education. “Education in every state must guarantee constitutional rights beginning with the 14th Amendment, to equal protection under the law and the First Amendment’s right to the free exercise of, and the nonestablishment of, religion”. All of which is not being carried out in our schools.
Representatives have the ability to remove the House Speaker with a vote of the House claiming no confidence.
I really don’t care how you do it, but as long as you address the issues sited above. If you can remove DEI from the state government, you can remove it from the schools.
ACT for America has 141,769 signatures of taxpayers demanding the removal of CRT and protect parental rights.
Remember, if you do not respond to our demands, I will not have any recourse but to file a complaint against you as well.
We have had enough.
Nancy Scur
To support our efforts to remove Critical Race Theory and Protect Parental Rights, go to ActforAmerica.org and sign the petition and complete the campaign in its entirety. To further promote the cause, tell at least 10 friends and have those friends do the same.
As per the rules, children 13 years or older can sign the petition. This is a good way to teach your children about civic responsibility in the process.
I echo Lynn. It's apparent you have spent countless hours working to learn and know what can be done. Thank you.
I totally see a convention of states being necessary. Aside from that, I think we need election laws that prevent anyone with "progressive" ideals from running for political positions. This may not sound like freedom to some, but I think we cannot preserve freedom while we leave the gate open for those who wish to destroy it.
It is also concerning that so many conservatives seem passive concerning issues and aren't as willing to stand like you. Maybe I'm seeing it all wrong. I'm off topic.... thank you for what you do!
Thank you for your hard work Nancy! I will forward your information regarding this movement to others. Thanks again!
